Mary’s Yes!

Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her. (Luke 1:38 NLT)

Day 3 – Encouragement

By Fr. Chris Lee OFR

In yesterday’s discovery, we learned that The Lord was with Mary, and that she was highly favored by Him. We also learned that God Himself was going to make the impossible, possible! What a wonderful encouragement from Scripture, to realize that Mary’s obedience to the call of God, makes it possible for The Lord to be with us also! No matter what we face, no matter what goes wrong, we must remember that He is with us. What’s more, He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

It would be enough just to know that God Himself will not leave nor forsake us. But it doesn’t stop there. Not only is The Lord with us, but we have found His favor through the merits of Mary’s Son Jesus. This means that whatever obstacles we face, He is with us, and we are favored by Him as we work through them.

Interior Questions:

  1. What does it mean that The Lord is with us?
  2. How will God’s favor impact me as I work through the obstacles in my life?
