This Is Who We Are

A Christian Church

Christians are followers of Jesus Christ. We believe the facts of Jesus’ life and ministry as His Apostles witnessed and recorded them. His birth by the Virgin Mary, His ministry of teaching, healing and exorcism, His death on the cross, bodily resurrection, and ascension into Heaven.
We also believe in the meaning of these events as the Apostles understood and taught them. That the
death of Jesus was a sacrifice for our sins; that His resurrection and ascension stand as a promise of His
return and our eternal life with Him; that the Holy Spirit marks out His people and shows us the ever
present hand of God in our Church leading and guiding us.
We follow the threefold ministry pattern established by the early church of bishops leading and overseeing, presbyters teaching and ministering, and deacons addressing the needs of the people.

Anglican Heritage

Anglicanism is the expression of Christian orthodoxy as shaped by the culture of what is now the British Isles. It is inclusive of the apostolic origins, Celtic cultural roots, patristic influences, the Medieval Church, the Protestant Reformation, the Wesleyan Evangelical Revival, the Oxford Movement, and the Modern Charismatic Movement. We measure our Anglican heritage not simply from the time of Thomas Cranmer, but back to the second century believers who carried the Gospel with them to the Celtic lands. Anglicanism is not defined by a connection to the “Church of England”, rather by the heritage of Christianity and by relationship to faithful Anglicans around the globe.

Rooted in Scripture

We accept the Holy Scriptures as the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct, and affirm their valid interpretation through the dual lenses of two millennia of tradition, alongside sanctified reason. We are enriched by the insights that the Holy Spirit has given to previous generations of Christians, and embrace what He is doing in our current day. We adhere to an expression of the Gospel neither diluted, nor polluted. We are a Church standing strong, breathing deep, ancient and alive.
