Christ’s Hands in Pakistan

Perseverance Under Pressure

Our Christian brothers and sisters in Pakistan face significant persecution both from officially from the government, and the legal system (Islamic Blasphemy Laws are often directed at Christians) as well as on the ground from the much larger Muslim population. Bishop Hizkiel Bhatti has continued to lead a large fellowship of believers in there in the face of numerous threats and challenges on all sides.

Persecution in Pakistan

Christians make up less than 2% of the population in Pakistan, and they face relentless persecution fueled by extreme Islamic ideology, abusive blasphemy laws, and lack of government protection. From mob attacks and church burnings, to death sentences that can be brought on from sending the wrong WhatsApp message, the system routinely targets the faithful. Forced conversions, economic exploitation, and judicial bias trap many in cycles of fear and poverty—yet the strength of God’s servants persists, with more young Christians answering the call to priesthood despite the risks. Ranked 7th globally for Christian persecution, Pakistan’s crisis demands global attention and urgent reform.

Gathering in Grace

Last week, a number of leaders came together to meet and discuss strategic objectives for growing the Church’s presence and effective ministry in Pakistan. Shown above (from left to right) we can see Deacon Tariq, Rev. Shamaun Masih, Bishop Bhatti, Deaconess Josephine (Bp Bhatti’s wife), Javed Masih, and Ev Nadèem Akhter. They came together to lay out the primary goals of how to reach the community nearby, as well as in distant parts of the country.

Reaching Out in Faith!

After the discussions were complete, several critical objectives which would need to be met in order to continue expanding in ministry, growing the church, and reaching more people for the Kingdom of Heaven were identified.
These included:
-Expanding the scope of ministry in Pakistan by serving those who are already in leadership roles, and continuing to equip them for their ministry.
-Working to convey supplies, resources, and finances to support local churches and ministers who do not have sufficient means to maintain strong ministry in their communities.
-Increase the geographic range of influence for the CAC in Pakistan by acquiring a vehicle capable of transporting people and equipment to areas which are currently beyond the reach of the CAC clergy on the ground in Pakistan.

All of these goals are completely beyond what can be done in the power of man, and we are praying and trusting God to provide the funds, the people, and the anointing which will be so necessary to carry this project through to completion!
