Bishop Robert Shares Global Vision of the Confessing Anglican Church in G26 Interview with Anglican TV
At the G26 Conference in Abuja, Bishop Robert Gosselin sat down with Kevin Kallsen, founder of Anglican TV and co‑host of Anglican Unscripted, for a wide‑ranging conversation about the Confessing Anglican Church’s identity, global partnerships, and expanding mission field.
Anglican TV—originally launched as Kallsen’s personal ministry—became an incorporated nonprofit in 2007 and continues its mission “to provide news and commentary relevant to the 77 million Anglican Christians worldwide… and to build up the Body of Christ through the creation, distribution, and promotion of multimedia content.” The platform has become a trusted voice in Anglican reporting, making the interview a significant moment of visibility for the CAC.
A Bishop Formed in Scripture and Mission
Kallsen opened the conversation by asking Bishop Robert about his background. The bishop recounted his 2012 consecration at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem—an event marked by providence and humility. He described how he arranged the venue without revealing that he himself was the bishop‑elect, simply asking if a consecration could take place there. “I never told him it was me,” he recalled with a smile.
Explaining the Heart of Continuing Anglicanism
When asked to explain continuing Anglicanism to viewers unfamiliar with the movement, Bishop Robert emphasized its commitment to the Church’s three historic streams:
- Sacramental
- Evangelical
- Pentecostal/Charismatic
He summarized the vision succinctly:
“In a continuing Anglican tradition, the goal is to be fully sacramental, fully evangelical, and fully Pentecostal–charismatic, and try to walk in that full expression.”
Deliberately Building Relationships
G26 provided an excellent opportunity renew existing friendships and to create new ones. 347 Anglican Bishops from across the globe gathered to discuss and support the Abuja Affirmation.

This balanced identity, he noted, is what draws believers across cultures and continents.
Growing Global Partnerships
The interview highlighted the CAC’s expanding relationships with other Anglican bodies. Bishop Robert described recent cooperation with the International Charismatic Episcopal Church, noting that their leadership approached the CAC saying, “We’re so similar… we really need to be walking in cooperation.”
He also spoke about ongoing engagement with the ACNA and the broader alignment with the newly declared Global Anglican Communion, which is rooted not in Canterbury but in Scripture and the Jerusalem Declaration.
Revival in the United Kingdom
UK Focus
One of the most compelling sections of the interview focused on the CAC’s missionary diocese in the United Kingdom. Bishop Robert described a season of spiritual renewal:

“We’ve been seeing a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our diocese in the United Kingdom.”
New church plants, clergy from other Anglican expressions, and public Christian witness—such as a Christ‑centered Christmas gathering in London and multiple public baptism events—are signaling a fresh movement of Gospel proclamation.
Formation and Restoration in India
The bishop also addressed the CAC’s extensive work in India, where the majority of its global congregations are located. Many leaders there have sought Anglican identity without access to proper formation. In partnership with the Primates Council, the CAC is helping restore apostolic order.
He recounted a remarkable moment from a recent visit to Chennai:
- 450 priests were ordained over three days, strengthening the pastoral foundation of the church.
- Four bishops who realized their prior consecrations were invalid approached the CAC for help.
Bishop Gosselin explained:
“On day one we ordained them as deacons, on day two as priests, and on day three we consecrated them as bishops.”
This quiet, pastoral act of restoration reflects the CAC’s commitment to truth, humility, and unity.
Why G26 Matters

Throughout the interview, Bishop Robert connected these global developments to the purpose of the G26 gathering. He echoed the primates’ message: “It’s not about your polity… it’s about the Bible. A church without the Bible isn’t a church.”
The Global Anglican Communion, he emphasized, is not a reactionary movement but a return to biblical faithfulness.
The conversation offered viewers a clear window into the Confessing Anglican Church’s global relationships, theological clarity, and expanding mission—demonstrating why its voice is increasingly influential within the worldwide Anglican realignment.
