CAC Bishops Placed On Vatican Commission
Recently, members of our clergy attended the Charis International gathering in Rome which began on May 29. Archbishop Thomas Schirrmacher, Bishop Bill Pezzutti, and his wife Deaconess Rosie Pezzutti. While in attendance they were asked to serve as a part of the CHARIS Commission which the Vatican established under the leadership of Pope Francis to be a bridge of unity between the Roman Catholic Church and other Christian entities worldwide.

A message from
Bishop Bill
The following is from the message Bishop Bill Pezzutti sent regarding the time there:
“…[We] attended the CHARIS INTERNATIONAL gathering in Rome that began on May 29th at a beautiful retreat center in Ciampino, Italy.
Before the official gathering began, we met with the head of the Charis Unity Commission for about two hours. We have been asked to serve on this important Charis commission.
The gathering officially began on Friday evening with Mass. It was celebrated by Father Christophe. As soon as mass started the HOLY SPIRIT reigned down as we began to worship and praise God together. It was an amazing start to this anointed gathering.”

Greeting Pope Leo
“After his talk, H.H. Pope Leo invited some special guests to greet him in person. Bishop Schirrmacher, on behalf of the Confessing Anglican Church, presented him a gold coin commemorating the Jerusalem meeting between Pope Paul and the Patriarch Athenagoras I. The gift was given
through the generosity of our own Archbishop Robert Gosselin.
On Saturday evening, we were invited to meet with a small group at the Charis office to discuss the celebrations planned for 2033 and how we can work together to see the Great Commission fulfilled. We look forward to our role with this Charis commission.
On Sunday evening, Father Christophe wanted to meet and talk to the evangelical leaders that attended the conference. There were about nine evangelicals in attendance at the conference.
It was clear from listening to Father Christophe that Charis has a real heart for unity across all streams of the church. It was very encouraging. At the end of our 2 1/2 hour meeting, I asked Father Christophe how we could pray for him personally? He had a couple of requests.
We all gathered around him and prayed into his life. It was a powerful time.”

Spirit Filled Worship
Bishop Bill continued,
“On Saturday, we all gathered at the Paul VI Center in the Vatican for a time of worship, praise, and anointed talks from some of the CHARIS leaders.
Bishop Thomas Schirrmacher was the only non – catholic speaker at the gathering.
The purpose of the gathering at the Vatican was to hear from Pope Leo and his heart for the Catholic Charismatic renewal. He affirmed the role of the renewal movement and affirmed the comments of his predecessors about the movement and the vital role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the church.
Pope Leo stated the following:
‘The renewal presence of the Spirit has awakened in you a new capacity to love, inspired by divine charity itself. The love is directed toward God and toward your brothers and sisters, and inspires closeness and compassion, especially those who are suffering.‘ ”

Final thoughts from Bishop Bill
“It was a privilege for us to attend this gathering and see how the Spirit of God is moving across His Body.
COME HOLY SPIRIT!!!!!!”
