A message from our Bishop Primus
The Most Revd Dr Charles Travis
Beloved in Christ,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our risen Lord Jesus. As I begin my third term of service as Bishop Primus of the Confessing Anglican Church, my heart is filled with gratitude, humility, and a deep sense of hope for the future God is shaping among us.
First, I wish to honor Archbishop Vijay Raju Gadepe, whose faithful leadership, sacrificial service, and steadfast love for Christ’s Church have strengthened our Communion in profound ways. His continued ministry as Metropolitan and Provincial Archbishop of India remains a gift to us all, and I am personally grateful for his friendship and his example of Christ‑like devotion.
Today, we stand at a remarkable moment in the life of the Confessing Anglican Church. Across multiple continents, we are witnessing what many global observers have noted within the wider Anglican world: a season of vibrant growth, renewed mission, and spiritual vitality, especially throughout the Global South where Anglicanism has expanded dramatically in recent decades . From North America to India, from Africa to Latin America, our congregations are proclaiming the gospel with clarity, worshipping with joy, and serving their communities with compassion.
This global family—diverse in culture, language, and context—remains united by one unshakable center: Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, the Savior of the world, and the Lord of the Church.
As your Bishop Primus, I am committed to fostering:
- Unity rooted in truth, shaped by the Scriptures and the historic faith once delivered to the saints.
- Mission that is bold and Spirit‑filled, reaching the lost and strengthening the faithful.
- Partnership across our two provinces, encouraging one another as we share in Christ’s work.
- Pastoral care for clergy and congregations, ensuring that no church walks alone.
The wider Anglican Communion has long emphasized that our unity is renewed through prayer, fellowship, and shared commitment to Christ’s mission in the world . I echo that call today. Let us continue to walk together—joyfully, courageously, and expectantly—as we discern the leading of the Holy Spirit for this next chapter of our life together.
I ask for your prayers: for our bishops, clergy, and lay leaders; for our expanding ministries across continents; and for me, that I may serve you with wisdom, humility, and unwavering faith.
May the Lord Jesus Christ, who is building His Church in every nation, strengthen us for the work ahead. And may the Holy Spirit fill us with hope as we proclaim the gospel to a world longing for truth, mercy, and redemption.
With every blessing in Christ,
In Christ’s service,
☩☩ The Most Rev. Dr. Charles Travis
