Orthodox Anglicans

We define Anglicanism as English Orthodoxy, developed from the very beginning of the nascent messianic Christian faith in the British Isles and continuing to the present age of global Anglican expression. While we are Anglican in our sacramental heritage, we are also evangelical and pentecostal. We’re evangelical because we proclaim salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and the freedom His new creation brings. We’re pentecostal because we embrace the Holy Spirit in His gifts, fruit, and His sanctifying presence as poured out at the birth of the Church.

“We are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ,
for it is the power of God unto salvation.” Romans 1:16

We choose to adhere to an expression of the Gospel that is neither polluted nor diluted. A Church breathing with both lungs, ancient and alive. It is also our apostolic mission to equip and enable all people to develop into effective ambassadors of Christ in the Church and in the world.

Anglicanism is inclusive of its apostolic origins, Celtic roots, patristic influences, the Medieval Church, the Protestant Reformation, the Wesleyan Evangelical Revival, the Oxford Movement, and the modern Charismatic Movement.

We measure Anglican history not only from Thomas Cranmer forward, but also from the Reformation backward to second century believers in what is now the United Kingdom. Anglicanism in the Confessing Anglican Church is not shaped by a connection to the See of Canterbury, but by its relationship to history and to faithful global Anglicans.
