Bishop Yepeta’s Visit to Uganda
During the first weeks of January Bishop Yepeta Sika, Bishop Ordinary for the Diocese of South Sudan and the Congo, visited the refugee camp in Bwyale, Uganda. The camp is home to the CAC’s BETHEL CHURCH. He is deeply grateful for the prayers and support received during this meaningful journey. He was able to successfully complete his Episcopal visitation , including conferring confirmations on several candidates in the Bethel Church.

Pressing Forward
Despite the challenging circumstances, the spirit of worship and dedication among these refugee believers has never wavered. Last week marked a new chapter as renovation of the church building began. This restoration would not be possible without the generosity of those who responded to the needs of these vulnerable refugee Christians. Their contributions are helping to rebuild not just a structure, but a spiritual home where this faithful community can gather, worship, and grow together. Bishop Yepeta thanks everyone who made this renovation possible and continues to support this vital ministry.

Refugee Congregation
Five months ago the church building where the services are held was severely damaged, with only the sanctuary portion remaining intact. It was in this preserved sanctuary that Bishop Yepeta presided over the confirmation service, while most members of the congregation sat under a makeshift shelter annexed to the building.

The Joy of the Lord
Here you can see the pupils from the Sunday School singing and dancing for the service, with joy and thankfulness for those who have provided funds to repair the damage which was done to their sanctuary. Their enthusiasm was a powerful reminder of the hope and faith that thrive even in the most challenging circumstances!
