Hands of Christ in Pakistan
In the small town of Pir Mahal, Pakistan, a powerful act of faith is unfolding every week at St. Peter Episcopal Church. Bishop Bhatti travels several hours from his home in Mian Channu to lead a Bible class that has become a sanctuary for spiritual growth and resilience. This gathering is unique in its inclusivity, welcoming both men and women who gather to study scripture and strengthen their faith. In a region where religious divisions often deepen societal fractures, this mixed-gender class stands as a testament to unity and the dedication of the local church body.

Bearing One Another’s Burdens
To sustain this vital work, the church recently received a significant boost through an anonymous donation of books, which has enriched the curriculum for the Bible class. While this gift was a blessing, the need for more resources remains urgent. The community is actively raising funds locally to purchase additional study materials, ensuring that every participant has access to the tools they need to deepen their understanding of their faith. These efforts highlight the resourcefulness and determination of a people who refuse to let their spiritual practices be stifled by scarcity.
However, the logistical challenges of ministry in this region cannot be overlooked. Bishop Bhatti currently lacks a vehicle for ministry-related travel, relying on public transport to reach Pir Mahal each week. To continue his vital work, he requires approximately $50 monthly to cover travel expenses; and we are seeking donors, either monthly or one time gifts, to ensure that the light of faith can continue to shine through his ministry. The congregation is also seeking funds to purchase solar panels and a water pump for their church building, which will cost them about $500.

Courage in the Darkness
The commitment of these believers is tested daily, as Christians in Pakistan face severe persecution, including threats of death, physical abuse, and forced conversion to Islam. For many, attending a church service or studying the Bible is an act of defiance against a climate of fear. Yet, Bishop Bhatti and his congregation remain steadfast, drawing courage from their faith and the support of their community. Their weekly meetings are not just about religious instruction; they are a lifeline, offering hope and solidarity in the face of systemic oppression.

Sharing the Love of Christ
As the world watches the struggles of religious minorities in Pakistan, stories like Bishop Bhatti’s remind us of the courage it takes to stand firm in one’s beliefs. His weekly journey to St. Peter Episcopal Church is more than a commute; it is a mission of love, resilience, and hope. By supporting his ministry, whether through donations for travel or contributions to the church’s building projects, individuals around the globe can help ensure that the Bible class in Pir Mahal continues to thrive. In doing so, they become part of a larger story of faith overcoming fear, and community rising above adversity.
